The Middle East is a region where vehicle is king and fuel is cheap, often leaving little reward to discover more environmentally-friendly ways of walking around.
But this year, as protests throughout the Middle East have actually risen the cost of oil, the problem of discovering alternative sources of fuel has entered sharp focus.
In a region that has among the greatest carbon footprints worldwide, one organization is taking advantage of the growing pressure to find alternatives to oil. It's established the Middle East's very first scheme to recycle cooking oil into biodiesel. It's showing successful too, already their client-list consists of McDonald's.
